Wassily Kandinsky's 1924 painting 'Schweres Rot' (Heavy Red) is a vibrant composition of geometric shapes and bold red hues, evoking a sense of energy and movement. It exemplifies Kandinsky's pioneering use of abstraction and colour theory in his artistic practice, which helped to pave the way for modern art movements like abstract expressionism and minimalism. 'Schweres Rot' was painted while Kandinsky was working at the Bauhaus in Weimar, where he taught the basic design class as well as a course on advanced theory.
