About Us

Art Poster Archive grew out of thirty years spent working in the art world: curating exhibitions, installing works in galleries and museums, and designing the publicity materials that bring shows to their audiences.

We sell two kinds of poster. The first are faithful reproductions of real exhibition posters and vintage advertisements from the last 150 years, printed on archival paper with museum-quality inks. The second, and the ones we're most proud of, are our original designs: exhibition posters for shows that never happened, imagining what it would have looked like if a particular artist had been given a retrospective at a particular gallery in a particular year. Every detail is researched, from the typography to the institutional conventions of the era.

All our posters are printed on 300gsm heavyweight fine art paper and shipped flat or in rigid mailing tubes. UK and US orders ship free.
