Ver Sacrum was founded in 1898 as the printed voice of the Vienna Secession, a group of artists and designers who rejected academic historicism in favour of integrated modern design. Typography within the magazine was treated as a visual system rather than a neutral carrier of text, aligning letterform, pattern, and layout with the movement’s wider ideals.

Our poster, designed as part of our ongoing project creating period-accurate exhibition graphics for artists and movements, features a typography-based design from a page in one of the final issues of the magazine, published in 1903.
