This poster reproduces a composition by Raoul Dufy made as a lithograph for an illustrated edition of Alphonse Daudet’s novel 'Aventures prodigieuses de Tartarin de Tarascon', published in 1937. The image combines architectural shorthand with animated foliage and grouped plant forms, built from transparent colour passes and rapid, calligraphic line.

Dufy’s approach relies on rhythm and surface organisation: a tiled roof anchors the scene, while blues and greens expand outward in loose, overlapping strokes. The lithographic language remains visible throughout, with colour treated as a structural layer rather than a closed fill.
