This minimalist exhibition poster centres on the 1933 photograph of Kurt Schwitters' Merzbau, the immersive Merz environment the artist constructed inside his family house in Hanover. Angular white planes and grottoes engulf the room, recording a state of the work that now survives only in photographs, the installation itself lost in a 1943 air raid.

Schwitters (1887-1948) built the Merzbau over some fourteen years, extending his collage principle of Merz into three dimensions until the architecture itself became the artwork. The photograph is paired with restrained Swiss-influenced typography in the ascetic institutional style of mid-1970s European gallery announcements, here for the Mayfair dealer Wilson Watson Fine Art. Choose from A3, A2, A1, 18 x 24 inch and 24 x 36 inch sizes, printed on high-quality, archival paper for longevity.
