Created in 1911 for Berlin’s Reimann School of Art & Design, Julius Klinger’s ‘Schule Reimann Plakat-Kunst’ poster heralded Europe’s first dedicated poster-design programme.

Klinger—already a pioneer of the Sachplakat movement—distils the course’s aims into a single, memorable image: an artist astride a stylised helmeted head, palette at his hip and gigantic brush poised like a lance. Printed by Hollerbaum & Schmidt, the era’s foremost art-poster press, the design’s flat colour blocks and bold type anticipate mid-century modern graphics.

This meticulous giclée edition revives a landmark of advertising history for today’s interiors.
