Claude Monet was fascinated with painting scenes under different weather and lighting conditions, and he took this to an amazing extreme in the years 1892-4 when he painted the façade of Rouen Cathedral more than thirty times. The painting seen in this exhibition poster shows the Cathedral in full sunlight, which Monet captures to glorious, uplifting effect.
