Berlin Secession 1910 Exhibition Poster
The Berlin Secession was a group of artists who in the 1890s rebelled against the conservative Association of Berlin Artists after it closed an exhibition of works by Edvard Munch. For several decades leading up to World War II the Berlin Secession artists championed artistic freedom and the ability to express oneself in new forms of painting and art in general. And though this poster is produced in an Art Nouveau style the Berlin Secession encompassed many different styles, from the portraits of Lovis Corinth to the Expressionist work of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner.
