Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) was a French painter and printmaker known for his bold and colourful depictions of Parisian nightlife in the late 19th century. Despite a life-long struggle with physical disability he became a prominent figure in the bohemian art world and is best remembered for his posters and prints of cabarets, dance halls and brothels.
