Gwen John

Gwen John (1876-1939) was a Welsh artist known for her contemplative, intimate paintings of women and cats. She spent much of her life in France, where she associated with artists such as Auguste Rodin and the Post-Impressionists, and developed her unique style of quiet, introspective portraiture.
