Collection: Edward Steichen

Edward Steichen (1879-1973) was a Luxembourgish-American photographer, painter and curator whose career spanned the pictorialist and modernist eras. As chief photographer for Condé Nast and later as director of photography at the Museum of Modern Art, he shaped twentieth-century visual culture. His 1955 exhibition The Family of Man remains one of the most visited photographic exhibitions ever staged.
