Ernst Ludwig Kirchner

Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938) was a German expressionist painter and printmaker known for his bold, colourful, and often unsettling images. Along with his fellow members of the art group Die Brücke (The Bridge), he sought to challenge traditional artistic conventions and create a new, modern style that reflected the anxieties and tensions of the early 20th century.
